Assessments

We are pleased to offer a variety of assessments, including cognitive (IQ), learning and neurodevelopmental. Assessment will be tailored to the presenting issues and needs of the individual, and will utilise evidence-based, standardised measures.

We are able to provide cognitive assessment for both children and adults, using the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, Australian and New Zealand, Fifth Edition (WISC-V A&NZ), which is suitable for children aged six years to 16 years and 9 months, and the Weschler Adult Intelligence Scale, Fourth Edition (WAIS-IV A&NZ), which is suitable for ages 16 years to 90 years and 11 months. We hope to be able to provide assessment for younger children in the near future.

Learning assessment looks at a broad range of academic skills, including Reading, Writing, Mathematics and Oral Language, in order to identify areas for support, including the identification of learning disorders.

Further, we are able to provide assessment for Autism Spectrum Disorders, using the ‘gold standard’ approach of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule and Autism Diagnostic Interview.

We hope to be able to provide developmental assessment in the near future.

The assessment process will involve an initial interview, followed by a combination of approaches, likely including feedback from school/day care provider, parent- and teacher-checklists, observation and standardised measures.

Assessment referrals will take priority.
